Now Hiring: University of Kentucky lists open Assistant Basketball Coach position

The University of Kentucky is searching for candidates for the opening on John Calipari’s coaching staff. For anyone interested, the position is now listed on the UK Jobs website for qualified applicants. (That’s probably not you, so don’t bother.)
To work for Kentucky Basketball, assistant coach candidates must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Additionally, unique work hours, including weekends, are a requirement for the job.
Its summary reads:
To assist the Head Coach in the administration of a Division I Men’s Basketball Program. Duties include but not limited to the following: assist in coaching, recruiting, basketball camps, academic and personnel support, and all necessary administrative work as assigned by Head Coach. Must adhere to all UK, SEC & NCAA rules and regulations.
The application deadline is Wednesday, April 19, because Calipari needs to fill the position to help build Kentucky’s 2023-24 roster.

KT Turner a one-and-done assistant
The bench seat to be filled has seen frequent turnover lately. Last season, KT Turner held the role for one year before he was named the new head coach at UT Arlington last month.
Before Turner, Jai Lucas sat next to John Calipari and fellow assistant Orlando Antigua for two seasons until Lucas decided Duke had more to offer. So Lucas left Kentucky to help Jon Scheyer begin a new era of Duke Basketball before the 2022-23 season.
In the third assistant coach’s seat, Chin Coleman just finished his second season under Calipari.
