On Christmas Day, Lexington Paper Remembers the Hate

by: Matt Jones12/25/13
calpitino As most of you sit with your families and enjoy the happiness of Christmas morning, some are already looking to the big game on Saturday. We are reserving our UL hate for tomorrow and Friday (it is coming), but the Herald Leader wants to get you ready by looking at all the UK-UL hate that led to the rivalry itself. According to the paper, the hate really hit three different eras: 1. Joe B and Denny with Hall not believing UL was worthy of a game 2. Eddie Sutton's famous "little brother" comment 3. Pitino and Calipari In my view, the rivalry has never been hotter, mainly because of the severe dislike between the two coaches. Both of them love to make sure to get a shot on the other one and neither finds the other worthy of their concern. It makes the games vicious and the losses after the game (for whichever group doesn't prevail) painful. The article is definitely worth a read and gives you a good primer for what is to come in the next couple of weeks (plus, it is cool to see that one of the major hating points between the two coaches came on our show). UK and Louisville embrace the hate
