Kentucky has four in-state prospects currently committed in the class of 2023. However, the Wildcats are still pursuing some other local recruits. One of those targets just posted some ridiculous numbers at another SEC program.

Georgetown (Ky.) Great Crossing EDGE Oryend Fisher camped at Alabama on Wednesday and posted some absurd athletic testing scores in Tuscaloosa.

Oryend Fisher is the No. 796 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The No. 9 prospect in the state camped at Kentucky last summer, earned a scholarship offer in August, and took an unofficial visit in September. Vince Marrow again got Fisher on campus in April, but there appears to be some legit competition in this recruitment.

More offers should be coming after schools get ahold of this testing data. For comparison’s sake, let’s take a look at Cincinnati EDGE Myjai Sanders and his performance at the NFL Combine and Pro Day. The Florida native went off of the board in the third round at the 2022 NFL Draft and is a similar comp to Fisher as a slender but long edge rusher.

Per the data posted at Alabama, Fisher has elite length for his position to go along with great speed and a really good vertical and broad jump. As a high school senior, Fisher possesses explosiveness and speed with great length. That is a good combination.

There is a ton of room for growth for Oryend Fisher due to his physical traits. As of now, Kentucky, Louisville, and West Virginia were seen as the primary contenders. However, both Alabama and Florida got the three-star prospect on campus since April, and the 2023 prospect also participated at an Under Armour Next camp.

Don’t be surprised if this recruitment really starts to heat up. If Oryend Fisher puts out some good senior tape, this could become one of the top prospects in the state this recruiting cycle.
