While Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe considers his basketball future, he received an official invite to the NBA Combine.

First reported by Adam Zagoria, Tshiebwe is among the invitees expected to attend the combine in Chicago next week. Set for Tuesday, May 18, through Thursday, May 20, the NBA’s pre-draft showcase will be held at DePaul University’s Wintrust Arena, where Tshiebwe and several other NBA hopefuls will work out and interview for all thirty NBA franchises.

Kentucky’s Cason Wallace is also an expected participant as he chases his NBA dreams as a projected lottery pick. Jacob Toppin and Chris Livingston are two more on invite-watch before the complete list of combiners is released soon.

Regarding Tshiebwe’s shot at the league, teams that already booked private workouts outside the combine include the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets, and Sacramento Kings.

In KSR’s latest Kentucky Basketball Roster Tracker, Jack Pilgrim wrote, “He has wanted to turn pro if the right opportunity presented itself, but early feedback has been lukewarm, at best. Teams believe he could find a role on a roster thanks to his niche as an elite rebounder, but it’d be a grind to get there. A guaranteed deal could move the needle in favor of the NBA, but that’s not likely at this point.”

Tshiebwe was in Lexington last weekend for his college graduation and a trip to the Kentucky Derby.
