Lamont Butler might not be on the Kentucky men’s basketball roster anymore, but that didn’t stop him from dropping another hit song during this year’s Big Blue Madness.

Kentucky saved the best for last with its player introductions, bringing out Preseason SEC Player of the Year candidate Otega Oweh as the final piece — before Mark Pope and John Wall stole the show, that is. As is tradition at BBM, Oweh was allowed to walk out to a song of his choosing. From my view in the upper deck of Rupp Arena, I could only barely hear the actual song, but I just knew the voice sounded familiar.

Turns out I was on the right track. Oweh, who received the largest pop from the crowd among the current players, walked out in front of 20,000 fans to Butler’s latest hit, which he appropriately titled “Tegatron”. Even better? The Bluegrass State’s own KY Engineerin’ mixed the song for Butler.

You can listen to it below. Butler sure knows how to make a catchy hit for the Big Blue Nation.

If the whole NBA thing doesn’t work out long-term for Butler, Pope should just put him on staff as the team’s official music artist. I still catch myself rapping Butler’s song from last year’s Big Blue Madness, “HBMont”, to this very day.

Now I’m sad that we don’t get to watch Butler play for the Wildcats anymore, but his new song has me even more excited for Oweh’s upcoming season.
