The Kentucky vs. Louisville game is earlier than ever this year, but Kasean Pryor put it back on everyone’s radar in a big way when he dropped an F-bomb about the Cats on Thursday night. After talking to reporters about the Cards’ 106-70 win over Jackson State, which marked his return from an ACL injury, Pryor couldn’t help himself, loudly guaranteeing a win and cursing on his way out of the media room.

“We’ll see you guys Tuesday — after the win,” Pryor told the Louisville media. “F*** ’em.”

The clip quickly made the rounds on social media, reigniting the trash talk between the fanbases a good five days before tipoff. After Kentucky’s 107-59 win over Valparaiso on Friday night, the players who spoke to the media confirmed they’d heard Pryor’s comments and were saving their response for Tuesday night. Otega Oweh did the same today.

“I’m on social media, I see it all, it’s cool,” Oweh said. “… I just can’t wait to see them, I just can’t wait to see them. That’s all.”

Kentucky vs. Louisville is always charged — we even got a fight in last year’s game — but Pryor’s comments drenched this year’s contest in gasoline. Pat Kelsey isn’t exactly happy about that.

“I mean, have you guys ever met Kasean? Kasean is very much a free spirit. And I love him for it, because that’s who he is at his core. He’s unapologetically himself. He’ll come in with the pink socks and the moon boots, and some of the wildest stuff that you’ve ever seen in your life.”

Kelsey’s not lying about that. Check out Pryor’s outfit for warmups on Thursday night, his first game back since tearing his ACL in the Battle 4 Atlantis title game on Nov. 29, 2024:

“That’s Kasean, and KP’s the type that he loves the moment, he loves the smoke, he loves all of that,” Kelsey added. “He loves the banter, he loves the social media stuff.”

Pryor knew exactly what he was doing when he dropped that F-bomb, which is why Kelsey told reporters that he wished he’d tackled Pryor before he went into the media room to remind him to take the high road.

“Because KP has been out so much, he’s been out so long, and I forgot that since he was playing, there was a chance that he was gonna go into the press room afterwards. Completely forgot, and then all of a sudden, when I saw that, I went, I should have grabbed him and tackled him and reminded him that we’re from the Skip Prosser School of praise your opponents, praise your teammates. But that’s KP, and that’s who he is, and I love him for it.”

If tomorrow night goes like we hope it will, we’ll love Pryor for it too. Thanks for making sure that a game already circled on the calendar now has five underlines beneath it, too.
