Many of those of us who spend time following UK basketball recruiting saw some good news in the story that Patrick Patterson, a 6'6" forward from Hunington, West Virginia is visiting campus this weekend.  For me, the news is not necessarily great because of Patterson as a player (which I am still skeptical about), but because it showcases a desire by the Kentucky staff to become more proactive in the recruiting process.  Patterson is just a junior and it has been a constant problem that this staff saves its evaluations for the summer before the senior year, when many players are committed or have built relationships with other schools.  This may be the first step in attempting to rectify that problem.
