After a tough loss last night in the SEC opener in Athens, Gary Henderson and the gang responded in a big way Saturday afternoon, burying Georgia 11-4. Let's get to the box score and a few quick notes from the win so we can get back to this basketball game that's apparently on right now.

Notes:

school_logo_large_darkDustin Beggs is on another level. The senior continued his incredible start to 2016 by notching his fifth straight W (and in really impressive fashion).

Can't ask for much better than that, folks; especially through eight innings and against an SEC-caliber lineup. Let's hope Beggs can be this consistent throughout conference play. An outing like that every Saturday completely flips the momentum after last night's tough loss, and sets up starter Kyle Cody to close the door on the series when he takes the mound tomorrow afternoon. school_logo_large_darkOffense everywhere. One look through the Kentucky box score, and you can tell it was a busy day for the Batcats. The lineup capitalized on some key errors from the Georgia pitching staff to put together a couple of big innings - four runs in the top of the fourth and the top of the sixth. Some notables from the afternoon: Evan White with a three hit, multi-RBI game, home runs from Kyle Cottam (his first of the year) and Gunnar McNeill (who extended his hitting streak to 13 games and contributed three RBI on the day), and a multi-hit game from Luke Becker as well. Hopefully they saved some runs for tomorrow afternoon too. That'll do it for today. Check back in tomorrow afternoon, with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and Kyle Cody taking the mound for an important rubber match against the Bulldogs.
