Notes: school_logo_large_darkA career day for JaVon Shelby. The junior third basemen went off in today's rubber match, hitting two home runs and driving in seven on the day. It puts him at .344 for the season, and makes a big statement in the first weekend of conference play. school_logo_large_darkAnother big day for the rest of the offense as well. Gunnar McNeill continued his ridiculous start to 2016, extending his hitting streak to 14 games with two hits and an RBI. Luke Becker and Kole Cottam both had multi-hit games too, with the former scoring three runs from the nine-hole. school_logo_large_darkNot the best outing from Kyle Cody. The offense proved to be the difference maker in today's win because Cody had a shaky afternoon on the mound, allowing six runs on seven hits through 3.2 innings. The bullpen also came through with a solid outing once the Sunday starter was pulled. Zach Logue secured the win, but credit to Justin Lewis for four innings of solid relief to close out the game.   This was a big win for the Cats today. They head back to Lexington with a conference series under their belt, and some momentum heading into another crucial weekend matchup against Florida coming up. Action at The Cliff kicks off again on Tuesday evening, with the Batcats taking on Morehead State at 6:30 p.m. Stay tuned for all the updates on KSR. @brooksHoltonKSR
