Rhyne Howard seen in arm sling following injury vs. New York Liberty

When the basketball gods took Georgia Amoore‘s rookie season away from us, we thought that was it. I mean, surely they wouldn’t go 2/2 and injure both former Cats in the W, right? RIGHT? Nope.
On Sunday, Rhyne Howard had a second-half collision with Natasha Cloud of the New York Liberty, and it was hard enough to sideline her for the rest of the game. She had just five points in 24 minutes of action. However, it was also hard enough to put Howard in an arm sling.
Following the game, Howard shared a message on social media. “Y’all send some love to Cloud 9 for me please,” it read. Natasha Cloud, who gave Howard some words of encouragement following the game, quoted her post and said “Feel better my dawg,” she wrote.
The former three-time AP All-American is currently listed as “day-to-day” with a left upper body injury. Her estimated return date is July 3rd — the date of the Dream’s next game. So, at least she has a few days to recuperate and get back to being 100%.

Howard is arguably having the best season of her four-year WNBA career, averaging 17.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Her 3.1 made three-pointers per game leads the league as well.
Hopefully, she doesn’t have to miss any time on the hardwood.
