The weekend at the Open Championship started with a stacked leaderboard. Ahead of the final round, the most dominant golfer in the world appears poised to run away with the Claret Jug.

Scottie Scheffler shot a jaw-dropping 64 on Friday at Royal Portrush. He followed it up by going 4-under on moving day. Scheffler buried a birdie on 16 to take a commanding four-stroke lead in the Open.

Scheffler is 14-under through three rounds. Ahead of the final round, he’s -750 to win the tournament. MINUS SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY. That’s preposterous.

The 29-year-old can create an even bigger gap atop the World Golf Rankings with a win. He started this season with two career Major Championship wins in The Masters. After a fourth-place finish at Augusta National, he won his first PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. If he holds on tomorrow and brings home the Claret Jug, Scheffler is just a U.S. Open victory away from a career Grand Slam.

Haotong Li will be in the final pairing alongside Scheffler after the Chinese golfer shot a 69 to move into second at 10-under. Matthew Fitzpatrick is in sole place of third at 9-under, while Scottish Open Champion Chris Gotterup is tied with four others at 8-under.

Rory McIlroy is among those in the group of golfers at 8-under. He made a strong move on Saturday by shooting 5-under. That included an incredible eagle putt and a golf shot never seen before. His swing dislodged another ball that was buried beneath his.

Rory and the rest of the field might just be playing for second. Scottie Scheffler is 9-0 in his career when leading after three rounds. You can watch the final round of the Open Championship Sunday morning on NBC.
