Twitter is usually a cesspool but today, it may have done us all a favor. This afternoon, the folks in charge of the Southeastern Conference’s Twitter account put out a tweet about Walker Hayes’ new song “Y’all Life,” claiming that it “just might be the song of football season.” They even asked Hayes, whose song “Fancy Like” probably just got out of your head, if he wanted to collaborate. Once you hear “Y’all Life,” you be grateful for what happens next.

The social media backlash was so bad and so swift that the SEC deleted the tweet; however, screenshots last forever.

Walker Hayes didn’t get the memo:

It’s Friday and not much is happening, so here’s a sampling of the responses to @SEC.

I’d rather listen to “Fancy Like” on loop than hear that even once leading into a Kentucky game on the SEC Network.
