SEC honors Jones, Knight, Lamb and Liggins

by:Thomas Beisner03/08/11

The SEC announced their men’s basketball awards this morning and Kentucky freshmen Terrence Jones and Brandon Knight, not surprisingly, factored heavily in them.  Jones and Knight were both named First Team All-SEC and Jones earned Freshman of the Year honors.  Doron Lamb joined Knight and Jones on the All-Freshman Team, but was beaten out by Tennessee’s Brian Williams for Sixth Man of the Year, while DeAndre Liggins was picked to the All-Defensive Team.  Kentucky native Riley Benock of Mississippi State won the scholar-athlete award.   Florida’s Billy Donovan and Chandler Parsons were named coach and player of the year.
