Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt next weekend in the Music City has suddenly turned into an important conference showdown.

It was announced Sunday morning that the SEC Network’s weekly, traveling pre-game show, SEC Nation, will set up shop next Saturday in Nashville for the Wildcats’ showdown with the No. 14 Commodores. The show will originate at Alumni Lawn from 10 a.m. – noon ET, Saturday, Nov. 22, on the SEC Network. It will be preceded by Marty & McGee, which runs from 9-10 a.m. ET.

Kickoff at FirstBank Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday and will be broadcast on ESPN. Alumni Lawn will also be home to The Paul Finebaum Show, which runs from 3-7 p.m. ET that Friday.

This will mark the first time this season that Kentucky will be featured on SEC Nation. The last time the show included the Wildcats was Nov. 2024, when UK traveled to Austin, TX, for the first time in what ended up being a 31-14 loss to a Texas team ranked third nationally at the time. Kentucky actually appeared on SEC Nation twice during the 2024 season, the first one a 31-6 loss to South Carolina at home in September.

But with Kentucky (5-5) riding a three-game winning streak and one win away from reaching bowl eligibility, there is no better time to have the ‘Cats make their SEC Nation debut of 2025 than next weekend. UK will look to upset Vanderbilt (8-2), which is coming off a bye week. The Commodores most recently beat Auburn in overtime at home, 45-38, just a week after UK knocked off the Tigers on the road, 10-3. ESPN Analytics gives Vandy — a team trying to make the College Football Playoff — a 76.5 percent chance to beat Kentucky.

Historically, SEC Nation games have not been kind to Kentucky. Since it started in 2014, the Wildcats have gone 5-13 in games hosted by the show. That’s a win percentage of just .278, third-worst among all SEC teams. But the team sitting at the very bottom of that list? Vanderbilt, which is 0-6 all-time in SEC Nation games, including a road loss to Texas earlier this month.

Let’s turn Alumni Lawn into a sea of blue and white, BBN.
