The 2022 NBA Draft is a week from tomorrow and it sounds like there will be plenty of wheeling and dealing as teams decide which young talent to add to their rosters. ESPN’s Jonathan Givony released a new mock draft this morning, which includes Shaedon Sharpe holding steady in the top ten and TyTy Washington slipping into the 20s. Givony predicts Sharpe will go eighth to the New Orleans Pelicans and Washington will go 21st to the Denver Nuggets. I doubt you’re interested in Givony’s comments on Sharpe, so here’s what he said about TyTy, who was projected to go 16th in his previous update.

“Having drafted well, and forced to play their young players fairly extensively due to injury, [Denver] has also developed some solid depth, giving the Nuggets good flexibility heading into the draft. Adding quality depth in the backcourt could be attractive for the Nuggets, especially a steady-handed guard like Washington who can play with or without the ball, excels in pick-and-roll and is a strong perimeter shooter. Washington has the size and length to play in many different lineup configurations for a team like Denver, giving him nice positional versatility to go along with his strong feel for the game.”

So far, Washington has worked out for the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Washington Wizards. Unfortunately, during Saturday’s visit with the Wizards, he suffered a right knee bone bruise, which cut his workout short. He’s also scheduled to visit with the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs.

Sharpe is one of the 16 players invited to the green room at the draft next week, according to Givony. Will John Calipari be there with him? If so, remind me to log off social media for the night.
