Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sells his clothes at a garage sale every year
Sure, he’s an NBA champion, MVP, scoring champ, and pretty much every other pinnacle one can reach on a basketball court. However, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s fashion prowess is of equal renown. He has walked the runway at Paris Fashion Week, attended the MET Gala, and his new signature shoe is one of the most futuristic pieces of footwear on the planet. But with a new over-the-top outfit for every NBA game entrance, what does SGA do with all these clothes? He does what most Kentuckians do: sells them at a garage sale.
Gilgeous-Alexander went on Nardwuar’s YouTube show and explained how, each year, he holds a garage sale to offload his enormous amount of clothing. But, hang on. Don’t go telling your yard-selling-loving aunt about it just yet. SGA’s fashion discounts are only available for his fellow NBA players.
When asked how much of his clothing he has sold to his teammates, SGA said, “A lot of my clothing. I do like a garage sale at the beginning of the season for the last couple of years. Literally. Literally. SGA’s garage sale. They come and…I don’t charge them that much. I keep the prices low.”

The hidden perks of being in the NBA, I guess.
If you don’t know (because I didn’t) Narduar Serviette has 3.79 million subscribers on YouTube and routinely interviews famous people at his record store. In his full interview with Gilgeous-Alexander, Narduar gifts the former Kentucky star with a host of different vintage collectables and elicits stories from SGA about his time growing up and playing basketball in Canada. It’s worth the 20-minute watch.
