Short and Insufficient Profile: Christian Johnson

by:Broseph07/24/08
OK, so, during the dragging, sweaty, uncomfortable months of summer, we flippantly mentioned that we would be profiling every player on the team. It will only be fun and worthwhile, we decided, if we were both informative AND funny. Well, it would be really fun if we were drunk the entire time, but that's neither here nor there. Thus, for these ten weeks leading up to the UL game, we will have at least one profile a day. We hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed the idea of doing them, but not the actual task. Oh, and we see the egregious "that's what she said" in the headline. We'd also like to use this italicized space to apologize to the families of the players whose last names end in 'A' or 'B' because these early ones might suck a little. CJ "Christian, don't forget Mom and Dad are picking us up!" Boring, Obligatory Vitals Height--6'4" Weight--325 40--5.14 Year--SR Position--Offensive Guard Hometown--Ft. Campbell, KY (Hargrave Military) Unfair comparison to NFL-er: Marcus Johnson (no relation).  They weigh about the same, both play O-line, and both played in the SEC. Most interesting fact from his media guide bio: Coming from a military family, he has lived in Georgia, Oklahoma, California, Washington, Kentucky, Hawaii, the District of Columbia, and Virginia. Something we made up about him: His and Micah's favorite group is The Brothers Johnson. Items of legitimate interest: Has appeared in 36 games, starting in 15 of them.  Made his first start of the season in a pretty big game (LSU), and helped allow zero sacks.  His finalists were UK, Maryland, Cincinnati, Marshall, Western Carolina, and Connecticut (those fair-catching cheaters!) Outlook for 2008, based on light research by our minions: Should be the back up left guard behind Zipp Duncan, but will see plenty of action if his first three years indicate anything.
