Should UK Do A Reboot Of "We Believe"?

by:N. Jourdan07/13/14
webelieve We....Believe....We....Believe.... I still vividly remember that chant ringing out around Commonwealth Stadium on October 13, 2007 against the #1 LSU Tigers. The visitors side of Commonwealth would yell WE, and then the home side I was on would yell right back BELIEVE. It was, in reality, one of those moments that you just get chills all over your body. To this day, it is still quite possibly the loudest moments I've ever heard inside of those concrete walls. Coming back to present day, we all know that a little video by UK Athletics kicked off the chant that reminds everyone of the (recent) glory day's of Kentucky Football. Also as we all know, the university is now looking for a new tradition to start at football games. So my question is can lightning strike twice for this chant that once set the Big Blue Nation into a haunting frenzy? Obviously the situations we're different in that the 2007 team was on fire, and the current Mark Stoops team is still being pulled out of the fire from coaches' past. However, what would you all think if Za'Darius Smith and this current crew of Cats ended up doing a reboot of the classic Marcus McClinton led video? Go ahead and agree or disagree in the comments, or offer your own opinion if you are so inclined to as well. Regardless, I have faith that the university will find some way to reinvigorate the atmosphere out at Commonwealth, whether it comes in the form of an old chant or something brand new.
