Six ways to pass the time until UK's first football game
Football fans have waited for this week for months. Sure, Florida vs. Miami reminded all of us how fun (and crazy) college football can be, but the BBN’s sights are solely set on the Wildcats’ opening game this Saturday.
There are finally just six days left until UK’s return to Kroger Field. In the mean time, here are six ways you can pass the time.
Relive some of last year’s best moments
As ready as we are for the official return of college football, trust that the SEC Network is just as ready. In the mean time, they have plenty of reruns to fill the time, and one of Kentucky’s biggest games from last season made the list.
You can catch last year’s UK vs. Penn State matchup Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. This time, you’ll be able to watch comfortably knowing the Cats come away with a 27-24 Citrus Bowl victory in order to secure their tenth and final win of the season. You’ll also catch Benny Snell’s record-breaking touchdown, Lynn Bowden’s 58-yard punt return and all three of Josh Allen’s sacks.
There’s also a UK football press conference slated for Monday at noon on SEC Network+.
If that’s not enough, you can also relive some of the best moments from the Mark Stoops era, courtesy of KSR’s Brent Wainscott’s countdown to kickoff articles. Check out his latest one here.
Cheer on the Cats in the NFL
Speaking of Kentucky’s all-time leading rusher… Snell and the Steelers are back in NFL preseason action Sunday night at 8:00 to take on the Tennessee Titans. That game can be seen on NBC.
And speaking of Kentucky’s all-time leading sacker, Allen and the Jaguars will face off against the Atlanta Falcons this Thursday at 7:00. Set your reminders now, because Allen is sure to put on another show.

Support the soccer team
There is only one UK athletic event in Lexington until Saturday: the men’s soccer team will take on Albany this Friday night at 7:30. The match will be played at The Bell on UK’s campus.

…Or avoid campus altogether
UK students flocked to Lexington last week, as classes begin this Monday. By now, you’ve probably avoided the annual move-in traffic around campus and the freshmen dorms, but there are plenty of areas that will still be extra crowded in the coming days.
