Does anyone really know anything about Michael Avery outside of the whole "God save the kids" media phenomenon that his verbal to UK has turned into? At this point, we know he's about 6'4", holding court with the older kids, his coach says he can shoot the lights out and really not much else. Now, that's all good and well, but hopefully we can learn something more about
Avery after he suits up in the Arizona Cactus Classic this weekend, sponsored by Damon Stoudamire and the always fresh Gilbert Arenas (above).
Avery's Belmont Shore squad, which also features 2011 top 150 guard Cezar Guerrero,
plays today at 2:20 against a D-One Sports team featuring John Wall (PG ranked 9th overall in 2009), J.T. Terrell (top 100 guard in 2010) and.....drumroll please......North Carolina forward Ryan Kelly of poop tooth fame! If you want to listen online,
here is the link for the radio broadcast of the tournament, but I'm not entirely sure that this is the game you will catch. I guess we're just going to have to go on this adventure together.
