Spot the Celebrity in the Music Video

[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV5lzRHrGeg[/embed]   You might have seen this week in the news that the beloved and acclaimed actor Tom Hanks starred in too old to be a teeny bopper Carly Rae Jepsen's new music video "I Really Like You." Kind of a weird choice, right? The "Call Me Maybe" singer employed the 58 year old Oscar winner to lip sync her song throughout the video.  Well, that got me to do some digging and I realized, that wasn't the only unusual casting/ guest star choice for music videos over the years. Granted, some appearances were before actors were actually famous, which makes them a pretty good find. But you could argue, the lifespan of the music video genre is declining and lately they're more like mini-movies put to song and thus employing bigger actors to appear in them. Before they starred together in "Hitch," Eva appeared in his video as the convertible babe lip syncing the Spanish lines.   Ricky Martin- "She Bangs"- 2000 [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ihtX86JzmA[/embed] Spotted: Channing Tatum! You'll spot Channing with a tribal face tattoo dancing under strobe light at 2:58. Classic Channing.   Jennifer Lopez- "Jenny From the Block"- 2001 [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dly6p4Fu5TE[/embed] Spotted: Ben Affleck of course! Back in the day while they were still dating, Ben showed of his arm tattoo on a boat undoing her bikini through camera lenses and fighting with her in front of paparazzi... maybe he didn't even know he made it into the video. Gotta love J.Lo in her Jenny from the Block days!   Kanye West- "Touch the Sky"- 2006 [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkwQbuAGLj4[/embed] Spotted: Pamela Anderson with a sideburns-clad Kanye as "Evel Kanyevel" at the Grand Canyon shooting off a rocket. Fun fact- back in 2006 this was one of the most expensive music videos ever made.   Justin Timberlake- "What Goes Around"- 2006 [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOrnUquxtwA[/embed] Spotted: Scarlett Johansson! In this 9:21 long video, Justin's already trying to show his acting chops opposite Scarlett in this dramatic love story gone wrong. Make sure you watch through her cheating on Justin, getting caught, their fight, her driving away, and her car blowing up- as the lyrics say "What goes around comes back around."   Arcade Fire- "We Exist"- 2014 [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRXc_-c_9Xc[/embed] Spotted: Andrew Garfield! Known for his role as Spiderman, in this video Garfield plays a transgender woman in this LGBT anthem. The video was nominated for a Grammy for Best Music Video.   Fat Boy Slim- "Weapon of Choice"- 2001 [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCDIYvFmgW8[/embed] Spotted: Christopher Walken! Who could forget a solo Walken dancing up a storm throughout a hotel. It is still entertaining today.   Mumford & Sons - "Hopeless Wanderer"- 2012 [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rId6PKlDXeU[/embed] Spotted: Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Ed Helms and Will Forte! The foursome plays the band performing in a barn and in a field and I would totally pay money to see them on tour singing Mumford songs, but I guess this video will have to do!   What celebrity music video cameos are your favorites?
