screenshot_01 Amidst a life of Hollywood red carpets, movie sets and United Nations commissions, the newlyweds George and Amal Clooney attended the Clooney family reunion in Augusta, Kentucky. The couple visited Maysville's "Magee's" bakery and ordered some transparent pies- their #1 seller! During their trip, they also visited Caproni's On the River in Maysville and George was even spotted shooting hoops at his alma mater Augusta High School before attending a private party at Augusta Pub. screenshot_02 The twice named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" was born in Lexington before growing up in Augusta. His father was a news anchor in Cincinnati, which allowed George to appear on television a few times as a child. The Oscar-winning actor tried out for the Cincinnati Reds before attending Northern Kentucky University to study broadcast journalism. He dropped out of school to work on a film about horse racing with his cousin Miguel, son of Academy Award winner Jose Ferrar and his aunt Rosemary Clooney who was a famous cabaret singer and actress. While working on the film, Clooney cut tobacco to make extra money. While the movie was never released, the experience inspired George's move to L.A. This Kentucky boy went on to become award-winning acting, directing and producing career, an outspoken activist who was appointed as a U.N. peace envoy for his work in Darfur, and married Lebanese-born British human rights attorney Amal Alamuddin, who has represented high-profile clients including Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
