Kentucky edge rusher Steven Soles will enter transfer portal
The only transfer portal window of the college football offseason is still three weeks away but player movement is happening right now. Numerous players are announcing their intentions. The first Kentucky player with eligibility remaining has announced his plans to enter the portal.
Steven Soles Jr. will become a college football free agent with two years of eligibility remaining.
The former three-star recruit out of Powell (Tenn.) High played 233 defensive snaps over the last two seasons. Steven Soles Jr. recorded 12 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 22 career games. Soles was a class of 2024 recruit who picked Kentucky over Virginia Tech.
Kentucky now has just five full scholarship outside linebackers remaining on the roster: Sam Greene, Lorenzo Cowan, Jacob Smith, CJ Works, and Justyn Hartley. Soles is the fifth class of 2024 signee to leave the program via the transfer portal.
