After former NFL superstar safety Ed Reed was spotted at the Kentucky basketball game last weekend, many have wondered if Mark Stoops is trying to convince Reed, who Stoops coached at the University of Miami, to join his staff at Kentucky.
Stoops was asked if that is a possibility during his Thursday appearance on KSR, to which he admitted he is trying to convince Reed to accept a job, but not sure Reed wants to be a coach.
"I'm working on it," Stoops said with a big smile. "He and I are close. We hadn't seen each other for awhile and he came in town to spend some time."
Stoops noted that Reed has already tried his hand at coaching, as an assistant with the Buffalo Bills in 2016; but added, "I don't think he had the greatest experience... I'm not sure he's ready to jump right back into it."
As someone who watches Ed Reed's 2001 halftime speech religiously, I do not want Ed Reed to coach at Kentucky -- I need Ed Reed to coach at Kentucky.
He'll put his heart in this s***, dawg.
