Another Kentucky wide receiver will be looking for a new home this offseason. Tae Tae Crumes is the fifth Wildcat wideout to enter the transfer portal following the 2022 regular season. Crumes cannot enter officially until Dec. 5 but is making the move right now.

Crumes shared the news on his personal Twitter account.

The Louisville (Ky.) Butler product was a three-star recruit in the class of 2019 who also received interest from Louisville and Michigan. Crumes was the No. 647 ranked player in the cycle and the No. 96 ranked receiver per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting companies.

Crumes was one of many 2019 Kentucky prospects to sign with a Power Five program. However, most of those players have transferred away from the place they signed out of high school. Crumes becomes the 16th player from Kentucky’s 2019 signing class to enter the transfer portal. J.J. Weaver, Taj Dodson, Jalen Geiger and Eli Cox are the only current players from that haul left in the program.

Crumes played in one game in 2019 preserving his redshirt. In 2020, the wideout had no appearances. The in-state prospect saw action in four games in 2021 reeling in his only career reception in the season-opener against ULM. Crumes did not receive any game action in 2022.

After some heavy transfer portal action this week, Kentucky has just six scholarship receivers left with two high school prospects committed in the class of 2023. Some more recruiting work must be done at this position as the Cats are experiencing some major turnover at wide receiver.
