Teague ready for the Bulls

AP Photo   K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune has a great story out this week about Marquis Teague's thoughts about the draft and how he's preparing for the upcoming NBA season.  Teague, who admits he was surprised he was still around at pick #29 for the Bulls to take, hasn't let that bother him so far: "When they picked me I was just happy to be part of this program and ready to get started.  I just want to work hard and get better, help my team win." (He's definitely got the how-to-talk-to-the-media thing down, if nothing else). Teague talks about his brother, Jeff's, influence on him, as well as his desire to learn from another former Cal point guard, Derrick Rose. When Teague first came to UK, he may not have had the "superstar" quality that Rose or John Wall had, but he finished a champion, and he could very well end up being a great player in the league.  Having a brother who's been in the league for years, and the possibility to learn from a great point guard like Rose, could turn out very well for Teague. A lot of Bulls' outlets have lamented their lack of having genuine shot-creators, and that's where Teague can be successful in Chicago.  His experiences at Kentucky and his role models (past and future) should make him into someone who's around the NBA a long time. That journey will begin fairly quickly, as Teague plans to train with Chicago's coaches this summer, and then go straight into the summer league training camp that begins in a couple weeks.   Good luck to Teague, as UK continues to take over the NBA.
