According to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, the New Orleans Pelicans are finalizing a 10-day contract with
Terrence Jones. This will be Jones' return to New Orleans, as he last played in the NBA during the 2016-17 season with the Pelicans and also with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Jones began the 2016-17 season with the Pelicans before being waived and picked up by the Bucks. He averaged 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds in 54 games last season. With the addition of Jones, the Pelicans now have five former Kentucky players on the same roster, the most of any team in the NBA.
Jones will add another big man to the Pelicans rotation after losing
DeMarcus Cousins to a season-ending Achilles injury. The Pelicans also traded with the Chicago Bulls to acquire forward Nikola Mirotic.
For his career, Jones averages 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds.
UPDATE: The Pelicans have decided to not sign Terrence Jones
