The Big Blue Road Trip: Grevey's

by:Keifer Winings01/05/16
DC We opened up conference play in Falls Church, Virginia, just outside of Washington DC this past Saturday at Grevey’s Restaurant and Sports Bar. Does that name ring any bells? Kevin Grevey, former Kentucky Wildcat and Washington Bullet (before they were the Wizards), is the owner. The sports bar regularly draws big crowds for UK games. DC-2 There were around 75 or 80 fans that came out for the Ole Miss game and it’s not uncommon for that number to double during big games. Even though Grevey’s is about a half hour outside of DC, you’ll still find a good crowd for each game. There isn’t a bad seat in the house either. The sports bar is filled with large TV’s, projector screens, and most booths have a personal TV as well. And if you’re hungry, the wings are fantastic. DC-4 One regular has even brought a Rupp tradition over to Falls Church, Virginia. She has collected a few three-pointer signs from Rupp and now hangs them under the TV’s whenever the Cats hit a three. If she is out of town during a game she has someone else do it for her. DC-5 DC-3 The crew out at Grevey’s has a lot of fun during their watch parties. If you’re in the area for a game you should definitely head on out. This Tuesday we will be at Town Tavern in downtown DC. We’d love to have you come hang out!
