We stopped in Raleigh, North Carolina to hang out with the alumni club in the area. We watched the game at a place called Tobacco Road Sports Café (which isn’t actually on Tobacco Road for those keeping track), where the staff gives UK fans a large room during watch parties.

Raleigh is located next to three universities with storied basketball programs: North Carolina, Duke, and North Carolina State. Even though these schools surround Raleigh, there is still a pretty big group of Cats fans in the area. We probably had around 100 people at the watch party on Saturday.

Tobacco Road takes pretty good care of the Cats fans. They hang up banners and flags during games and had a “Kentucky Hot Brown” as their special for the day. Next year, when the restaurant moves to a bigger location, UK fans will have their own room.

We had a great time with the Raleigh Alumni Club. If you're in the city and need a place to watch a UK game, head on out to Tobacco Road!
