The Epic Saga of Tony Wroten's Recruitment Ends & More

Kyle Anderson, a 6-foot-8 guard from New Jersey & Daniel Ochefu, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Pennsylvania, will attend the same Midnight Madness. While both are being recruited by Kentucky, neither will attend UK's Midnight Madness. They will head to Georgetown, instead. While Anderson has an offer from Kentucky, along with about 20 other schools, Ochefu has not picked up a scholarship from the Wildcats yet. He is being recruited by schools such as Georgetown, West Virginia, Texas and Rutgers. Both top ten players in their class, Kentucky could get further involved in their recruitment in the near future, especially Anderson. Daiquan Walker, a 6-foot-1 point guard from Pennsylvania, took an unofficial visit to Kentucky earlier in the week. Walker, who has offers from Boston College, Florida State and others, has been compared to a standout college basketball player. Walkers draws comparisons to Villanova guard Maalik Wayns, who is bound to be the starter this year. The two attended the same high school, Roman Catholic in Philly, and Walker has taken over the reigns. Walker is a top-150 player in the class of 2012. Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell, a 5-foot-10 point guard from Indiana, noticed an interesting visitor for his workout this week. A top 20 player in the class of 2012, Ferrell noticed that Kentucky coach John Calipari was in the house to watch him workout. Later in the week, Miami (FL) offered Yogi a scholarship. They join Butler, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Notre Dame, Purdue, Virginia, Washington and others. As one of the top point guards in 2012, look for the Ferrell to receive some more interest down the road. Tony Wroten, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Washington, has committed to Washington. Over the past few months, Wroten has made it seem as if Kentucky was recruiting him hard. That, however, is not the case at all after he sent out a tweet to Coach John Calipari asking why he had stopped recruiting Wroten. As Tony held his press conference at his high school, he did it the only way possible, "Tony Wroten style." The top-30 guard wore red and black to the press conference and layed out some hats. While Louisville fans got excited and believed they had him in the bag, the cat got out and Wroten chose to go with the Huskies. Louisville fans were angry but Wroten made the worst of it as he acted a bit immature during the press conference, which was broadcasted online via the Seattle Times. Johnny O'Bryant, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Mississippi, has committed to LSU. O'Bryant, a top-30 senior in the country, was previously being recruited by Kentucky until he cut them out of his list a few months ago. Jabari Parker, a 6-foot-6 forward from Illinois, will attend Midnight Madness at Illinois. Parker, a top-10 player in the class of 2013, visited Kentucky unofficially last weekend and has received a fair amount of interest from the the Wildcats. Parker currently holds offers from Baylor, BYU, DePaul, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Nevada, Northwestern, Oregon State, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Providence, Washington and more. Jabari Brown, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from California, has committed to Oregon.
