The Jarrod Polson Christmas Ornament Wants Afternoon Notes

by:Thomas Beisner12/29/10
jarrod-polson-christmas-ornament Coach Cal hinted last night that he might end up using a six-man rotation.  The revelation came just one game after saying he wouldn't mind going eight-deep and a certain walk-on from Nicholasville could find his way into that final spot.  No matter what happens, Jarrod Polson is sure to remain the apple of one 14-year old girl's eye and, at the very least, a part of all of her future Christmases.  SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTT! A few notes...  - More love piled in today for Doron Lamb, who was voted by the USBWA (writers) as the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week for his scoring outburts against Winthrop.  All of the online folks have already honored him, but it was nice of the print guys to get around to it too.  Just kidding.  Kind of.  He is the fourth honoree of the season.  - In other awards news, UK football recruit Lamar Dawson was named as the Kentucky Player of the Year by the Orlando Sentinel and placed on their All-Southern team.  He was joined on the team by three Louisvilel commits: Seneca quarterback DaMarcus Smith, Fern Creek lineman Jamon Brown and Ballard wide receiver DeVante Parker.  UK target and Dixie Heights junior signal caller Zeke Pike also made the team.  Dawson is also the favorite to win Mr. Football, which will be announced tomorrow.  - More strange NCAA news today as Vandy's Lance Goulbourne has been suspended indefinitely.  What did he do that was so horrible?  Well, he purchased a parking pass from a Vandy student manager last year and that, technically, is considered taking an extra benefit from a staff member.  Dumb.  - Speaking of the NCAA, Clay Travis and his beard get it done in a column where Tennessee's version of Matt Jones asks why Ohio State is not vacating their season.  Give it a read.     - In local news, the Derby Festival Classic game has been moved to the Yum! Center from Freedom Hall.  In case you missed it today, here's the podcast of Kentucky Sports Radio, which featured Handsome Jimmy and his XXXXXXL Peyton Siva jersey.  Some call it the greatest two hours of radio ever recorded.  Listen below. HOUR 1 HOUR 2
