The KSR Twitter Top 10

by: Brennan English02/05/14@BrennanKSR
[caption id="attachment_150925" align="alignnone" width="582"]buscemi This isn't that kind of list, at least not yet[/caption] Beginning next week, KSR will be delivering our very own version of the top-10, not plays of the day, but tweets. We will be scouring the Internet to bring you the best tweets of the previous day, the kind you would expect from KSR--ridiculous. You the fans have the chance to be a part of our top-10 and we encourage you to get involved by using hashtags like #BBN #KSR #KSRTopTen, or tweeting at us directly. While we will focus most of our attention on Kentucky sports-centric tweets, there are as usual no limits to our madness. So if your Nana likes to wear a wig when she's drunk, share it and she could become a KSR legend. In case you were wondering, yes, that was a Mean Girls reference. It was a big day on Twitter ladies and gents: Kentucky showed life against the Thundering Marshall Hendersons, the Red Hot Chili Peppers went unplugged, and Bill Nye took a trip to the Creation Museum, but what other hot topics got our attention on social media (sorry Facebook...) yesterday? https://twitter.com/ESPNCBB/status/430860403900678145 1) Why yes, in this first slot in the first top-10, we have a Sportscenter reference, fancy that.  As Mrs. TT poignantly put it--he went full Katy Perry on that play. https://twitter.com/KySportsRadio/status/430772164082819073 2) If you live in Lexington and don't follow @HLpublicsafetyyou should; who doesn't want hilarious police scanner tweets, school and road closings, public safety warnings, and the sentencing of violent criminals all in once place? Oh, and asking for more Twitter followers. They're really into that. I can say from personal experience in following the Herald-Leader's public safety Twitter handle that this was the first time I've ever seen mention of something SO outside their lane as federal copyright law/sports blogging/a handful of photos from 2009-2010. Just drama. Twitter is beginning to feel eerily like Tin Roof. https://twitter.com/TLReed2/status/430766698275565568 3) Why yes, Wednesday is National Signing Day, Lance, and yes professors, employers, mothers--we are NOT listening. Stoops Troops 2014 take priority. https://twitter.com/levans16/status/430835560908083200 4) The Continental Indoor Football League and Jared Lorenzen, made BIG waves this week, gaining recognition and airtime from Scott Van Pelt, Jim RomeSportscenter, the NFL, Trey Wingo, Deadspin--basically all 7.1 billion of the world's population. And to beat a dead horse (or Bronco!) but Jared Lorenzen seriously just Beyoncéd the Internet yesterday. Case in point: https://twitter.com/SIPeteThamel/status/430767111443460096 5) PETE THAMEL ladies and gentlemen; even he's got that can't stop won't stop. No, your eyes doth not deceive you. https://twitter.com/ESPNDanaOneil/status/430873222138298368 6) You know you'd run. https://twitter.com/PelicanPierre/status/430750725975453696 7)  Join the #FreePierre movement BBN, because every parent needs a mascot from the netherworld to scare their kids straight; only Pierre the Pelican can match the fear factor of the Clemson Tiger and San Antonio Spurs Coyote. So if you ever make it down to NOLA to see Anthony Davis you will have to leave them with a sitter! It's a win win for parents and fellow fans as YES your kid is in fact annoying, just like any other. https://twitter.com/ericcrawford/status/430804549977112577 8) Yes in fact, Keeping up with the Matt Joneses is in the works. https://twitter.com/vaughtsviews/status/430884303174512640 9) WHAT could it be!? My bet--poppycock.  https://twitter.com/HowardWKYT/status/430883725132308481 10) I do. And I'm glad. In your bonus WKYT Twitter News of the Weird, I give you--Mother Russia. https://twitter.com/nycjim/status/430858077332439040 Follow me for more weird news, movie/music/TV/Funkhouser talk, and some sports musings now and again. @BrennanKSR
