The secret of "517" revealed

by:Thomas Beisner11/23/10
Though I'm sure you didn't notice (after all, I barely noticed and it's my fake job to pay attention), Kentucky's football team is sporting t-shirts reading "517" around the Nutter facility lately.  It's a slogan that's being kept a secret between the football players as it's believed to hold super-motivational powers not meant for the simple-minded football fan.  But, word got out anyway. According to a KSR reader (and now every media outlet), the "517" is a reference to the total number of points that Tennesse has outscored Kentucky by during "The Streak".  This, of course, is an important stat for Kentucky to be reminded of because...well...umm...nevermind.  Outside of the number of blood pints pumped in these year's streak-busting win over Tennessee, it's about as meaningless as any stat you could put on a t-shirt.  In fact, there have to be about a gazilli0n numbers more motivational numbers from this series than that one.  Do I smell a BTI post coming? But, do your thing, I guess, Joker.  Just make sure you win the game.  That's something worth putting on a shirt.
