There is Some Good News

hfhggfdfddg After a fairly awful day of basketball in Bloomington, we look for something to make us happy. Reader Alex Goggin points out that Michael Porter looks a bit like singer James Blunt, who most certainly was not singing "Beautiful" during the game on Saturday. Porter and the rest of the gang had a lot of difficulty generating any kind of offense and the game answered the question of what will happen to Kentucky on days where Crawford and Bradley are having off shooting nights.....the answer is bad things. Unlike long-time reader Danielle Y. who never has an off day, this Kentucky team gave effort, but was a step slow and an inch short on almost everything in tried to do in Bloomington. But there is good news. Jodie Meeks' dad confirmed after the game that his son had no interest in transferring from Kentucky. Considering some of the scuttlebut that had been around the program, this is a bright spot on the day. Coach Billy Clyde made clear that he thought the team played decent on Saturday and that if a few shots in the first half had gone a different way, the game could have been much closer. Optimistically, I agree with Coach, as Crawford and Bradley missed 4 wide open threes to start the game....shots they simply have to hit if Kentucky has any shot of beating a good team. When they dont go in, as on Saturday, the result will nearly always be negative. Finally, Coach Clyde left Bloomington and went to Marshall County, where he saw future Cat DeAndre Liggins play in a highly anticipated game. Liggins performed well, and gave the UK fans some glimpse on the fact that help is on the way. In the short term today was not good....but if Meeks and Jasper come back, all is not lost. But there will be more tough sailing ahead. As one of my old professors used to say, "you are what you are"....and this Kentucky team isnt changing this year....until then, we should support them and hope for the best.
