There's a petition out there to rename the Cincinnati Bengals the Cincinnati Harambes
It’s been three months since Harambe the gorilla was killed by Cincinnati zoo authorities to protect a small child that fell into his cage, but people are still up in arms about it; so much so that there’s now a petition going around to rename the Cincinnati Bengals to the Cincinnati Harambes. Julian Ortiz of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania started the petition two days ago, and it now has over 7,700 signatures (warning: it includes some not so safe for work or kiddos language).
“The Cleveland Browns named their team after a former Coach who made a great impact on their city so why can’t the Bengals do it as well in honor of a hero who made an impact on their city too!” Ortiz wrote.
Ortiz plans to send the petition to the Bengals, who will likely toss it straight into the trashcan.
In similar news, in case you missed it over the weekend, former UK quarterback Patrick Towles is dedicating his senior season with Boston College to Harambe:
