This was going to be an ugly halftime post. Now it's just not great.

Goodness, what a horrible start for Kentucky. The Wildcats trailed by four with nine minutes to go (23-19) and as late as the 7:18 mark, tied down to 5:51 — and then it all flipped in the last segment.

This group went on a 20-3 run while scoring eight of its last 10 field goals down the stretch. Tennessee Tech, meanwhile, missed 10 of its last 11 and is now shooting 34.3 percent from the field and 12.5 percent from three. On the other end, UK is now up to 50.0 percent overall and 23.1 percent from deep after the head-scratching first 14 minutes.

It all led to a 43-28 lead for the good guys at the break.

Trent Noah (just as we all predicted) leads all scorers with 10 points and five rebounds on a perfect 3-3 shooting, followed by Collin Chandler with nine points, Malachi Moreno with six points and eight rebounds, Denzel Aberdeen, Otega Oweh and Brandon Garrison with four points and Jasper Johnson, Andrija Jelavic and Kam Williams with two.

UK is outrebounding TTU 25-16 to go with a 30-12 edge in paint points and a 13-3 difference in assists favoring the blue and white.

Please finish this in blowout fashion, Cats. We’re begging you. A 15-point lead is nice, but this needs to be 30-plus going into the Thanksgiving holiday.
