Four weeks from today Mark Stoops will have almost a complete signing class. There’s a lot happening in this final stretch of the recruiting season, one that will culminate with quite a few decisions near signing day.

Early Signing Period Announcements

A few of UK’s top targets will wait until December 18 to announce their college decision. Yesterday a four-star cornerback revealed he will have an announcement ceremony around the same time. Baton Rouge cornerback Joel Williams will pick between Kentucky, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama and Florida on December 17.

It’s hard to tell where Williams’ recruitment stands. A one-time Florida commit, he officially visited Lexington for the Arkansas game. A few weeks later he was in the stands at Bryant-Denny Stadium when LSU players told the Alabama recruits to come to LSU. For Louisiana kids, LSU is the top dog. They’re willing to wait to see if Coach O will take them. How all of that unfolds near signing day could get wonky.

Another four-star target revealed this week he’s announcing his college decision on December 18. The No. 12 offensive guard in America, R.J. Adams, will unofficially visit Lexington this weekend. Adams de-committed from Penn State shortly after he took an official visit to UK in September.

For those keeping track at home, UK has four four-star recruits announcing at the start of the Early Signing Period: Williams, Adams, four-star defensive end Tyler Baron and four-star defensive tackle Octavious Oxendine. It’s going to be a wild 24 hours.

Finalists for a Talented DT

They might not be the only four-star UK recruits deciding in the eleventh hour. Former Ole Miss commit Josaih Hayes revealed a top five Wednesday and it included the Cats. Recruited by Jon Sumrall, the four-star defensive tackle will visit UK two weeks prior to signing day on December 6.

More in Michigan

While the primary focus remains on completing out the 2020 class, assistant coaches are still speaking to underclassmen. Wednesday afternoon Kentucky became the first power five school to extend a scholarship to Ann Arbor, Mi. wide receiver Ali Fisher. As a junior the two-way player recorded 57 receptions for 874 yards and 9 touchdowns, along with 33 tackles, two forced fumbles and an interception. Not too shabby. Watch him work here.

Beau Allen’s Impressive Stats

The future UK quarterback’s high school career ended last Friday at Boyle County. He did not bring home a state championship, but his name will be all over the KHSAA record book.
