Top 10 2027 prospect Nasir Anderson having daily conversations with Kentucky

Not many high school prospects have seen their stock blow up in recent months like Nasir Anderson has.
Anderson, a 6-foot-1 class of 2027 point guard, shined for Team USA in the FIBA U16 AmeriCup last month in Mexico. He was named tournament MVP while leading the Americans to another gold medal. Still only 15 years old, Anderson averaged 12.3 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.5 steals per outing while shooting 66.7 percent from the field across six games played. A week later at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, he was equally as impressive with college coaches watching from the stands.
“Anderson is a vicious point of attack lead guard,” Rivals’ Jamie Shaw wrote. “He utilizes twitchy athleticism, a tenacious mentality, and physical strength to keep opponents out of the paint while having the balance and crafty handle to consistently be able to put pressure on the front of the rim.”
Anderson’s impressive play to start the month of June opened the recruiting flood gates. When the 2027 contact period opened on June 15, he hauled in over a dozen high-major offers. He’s now up to No. 9 overall in the latest Rivals’ 2027 player rankings update. Kentucky has yet to officially extend a scholarship, but the Georgia native is hearing regularly from assistant coach Mikhail McLean.
“I would say it’s a daily convo, every day,” Anderson told KSR last week at the adidas 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill, SC. “I’m staying in touch with the coaching staff. (McLean) sends me videos, sends me messages, sends me what their practice is like, just trying to build more of a connection and a relationship.”
While in Rock Hill for the first live period of July, Kentucky coaches caught a couple of Anderson’s games with Game Elite 16U. The rising high school junior, who is transferring from Norcross (GA) to Prolific Prep (FL) for the 2025-26 season, averaged 13.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per contest across five games played last week. In his interview with KSR, Anderson mentioned how he saw head coach Mark Pope watching one of his games.

“I should be hearing from him pretty soon,” Anderson said.
Kentucky coaches have been sending Anderson game film of NBA players they believe he can mimic his playing style after — pros such as De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Jalen Brunson. Anderson is looking for a college team that will prioritize his position as a lead guard in its offense.
“I’ll say I’m a good teammate,” Anderson said when asked to describe his game. “I try to get my teammates going first before I eat, because that’s going to happen regardless. I can touch paint pretty well, create shots for my teammates and myself.
“A couple of things I can improve on is I would say keeping my composure when we go through adversity. Keeping my head in the game, locking in, focusing on the next play, stuff like that. And also just being more consistent. Some games I might for 20 points, five assists, and the next day I might go for like eight and nine assists, or something like that. Just being very consistent.”
Louisville, Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee were teams Anderson mentioned off the top of his head as ones he’s hearing from regularly along with Kentucky, but there are even more than that. “I could keep going,” he added. There aren’t any visits lined up at the moment, but he says a trip to Lexington is being talked about with UK coaches.
“We’re talking about it. It’s still in the works, but it’ll be soon.”
