Jac’Qawn McRoy has long been a significant recruiting target for Kentucky in the 2024 cycle. The blue-chipper is now ready to make his decision.

On Saturday evening, the Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville tackle will commit live on CBS Sports HQ at 5:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. CT.

The No. 188 ranked player in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking is down to four schools with Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Oregon joining Kentucky as finalists. McRoy took an official visit to Kentucky two weeks ago, but unfortunately there has not been much buzz about the Wildcats despite some previous positivity.

“I love Kentucky,” McRoy told Jacob Polacheck of KSR+ in April. “They were my first offer. It’s a new staff now, but Kentucky was my first offer. I had Coach [Jon] Sumrall over there when they first offered me, but now it’s Coach [Zach] Yenser and Liam [Coen].”

Oregon is the heavy favorite

Jac’Qawn McRoy has visited Kentucky multiple times, but another school has always stood out as the leader. McRoy has called Oregon his “dream school” and has made multiple trips to Eugene. The Ducks own a commanding lead in On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine and are expected to be the winner on Saturday.

However, this is a big boy recruitment in the SEC footprint. Things won’t be over until McRoy signs in December. But for now, Kentucky must find some other tackle prospects because the recruiting board is thinning quickly at this premium position.
