Kentucky transfer Travis Perry commits to Ole Miss

Travis Perry was a surprise one-and-done at Kentucky. The young guard decided to enter the transfer portal just ahead of the deadline with three years of eligibility remaining. Ole Miss quickly emerged as a favorite.
The Eddyville (Ky.) Lyon County product has decided to stay in the SEC. Travis Perry committed to Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon.
Travis Perry averaged 2.7 points in 9.7 minutes per game on .313/.321/.800 shooting splits as a true freshman. The former top-100 recruit appeared in 31 games and earned four starts while playing for head coach Mark Pope. All signs pointed to Perry returning for a second year in Lexington until the additions of Jaland Lowe and Denzel Aberdeen created a crowded backcourt on Kentucky’s 2025-26 roster.

Ole Miss heavily recruited the 6-foot-1 guard out of high school. Head coach Chris Beard finally signed Travis Perry after a one year stop at Kentucky. Alabama, Cincinnati, and WKU were also involved in this transfer recruitment. Perry won Mr. Basketball as a senior as he led Lyon County to a state title. The four-star recruit set the state scoring record (5,841 points).
Kentucky will now face the in-state product in SEC play in 2026. Ole Miss should have a return trip to Rupp Arena this upcoming season after UK traveled to Oxford in 2025.
