Kentucky will be without Tre Mitchell once again on Tuesday night.

For the fourth consecutive game, Mitchell will watch from the sidelines with a shoulder injury that he sustained against Ole Miss on Feb. 13.

Kentucky is set to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs this evening at 7:00 p.m. EST on ESPN. Head coach John Calipari officially ruled Mitchell out against the Bulldogs during his pregame radio segment with Tom Leach.

“Won’t play today. He’s working his way back,” Calipari said, adding that Mitchell will be incorporated slowly into the lineup once he does make his return.

KSR’s Jack Pilgrim was first to break the news.

This will be the sixth game of the season that Mitchell will sit out due to injury. He missed two games earlier in the season due to a back injury. Against Ole Miss two weeks ago, he injured his shoulder in the second half against the Rebels and has not seen the court since.

Mitchell is Kentucky’s second-leading scorer at 12 points per game on 49.7 percent overall shooting. He also contributes 7.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks in a team-high 33.1 minutes per contest. UK is 3-2 without the fifth-year forward this season.
