Josh Kattus quickly made a name for himself in 2022. The sophomore tight end figures to play a critical role for Kentucky in 2023. He could soon be joined by his brother on campus.

Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier offensive lineman Tucker Kattus is a top-500 prospect in the class of 2025, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. The younger brother of the Kentucky tight end is starting to see his recruitment heat up. The younger Kattus caught up with On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons this week to provide an update on where things stand.

Arkansas, Kentucky, and Michigan are the three schools standing out the most in his recruitment.

Tucker’s dad, Eric, played at Michigan with Jim Harbaugh in the 1980s before spending seven years in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets. That connection is playing a role in this recruitment. “I’m sure he’d love if I went to Michigan but he wants me to go wherever I want to go and same with brother,” the younger Kattus said.

Vince Marrow is making a strong push for Kentucky and having his older brother on campus certainly can’t hurt the Wildcats.

“He tells me that I need to stay locked in and spend all of my time getting ready and working,” Tucker said about his older brother. “I never need any advice from him, he’ll help me no matter where I go. He just wants the best for me.”

Tucker Kattus is currently keeping things “completely open” in this recruitment. However, Kentucky is a major player for the 2025 prospect. Another head-to-head battle with Michigan on the recruiting trail could be brewing.
