TyTy Washington Jr. is entering year four as a professional basketball player. The former first-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft is still searching for a long-term home. On Saturday, the 22-year-old locked in a deal to join his fourth NBA franchise.

The free agent guard has agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. Washington is staying in the Western Conference.

TyTy Washington Jr. spent his rookie season with the Houston Rockets and appeared in a career-high 31 games. The guard averaged 4.7 points per game on .363/.238/.556 shooting splits. The one-and-done product then spent time in each on the last two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns on a two-way contract.

The guard was a key piece on Kentucky’s 2021-22 team when he earned second-team All-SEC honors. UK was rolling that season until an in-season injury on Super Bowl weekend slowed Washington down for the rest of the season. The former blue-chip recruit averaged 12.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.3 steals on .451/.350/.750 shooting splits.

100 days until college basketball season

The college football countdown clock is not the only one on at the KSR office. We shifted into another countdown on Saturday.

Kentucky will return to the hardwood soon. The Big Blue Nation will not have to wait that long to see Mark Pope‘s second team in action. Exhibition season will begin with a matchup with Purdue on Oct. 24 before the season officially begins in November.

College basketball is also right around the corner.
