Tennessee EDGE Tyler Baron enters transfer portal
Tennessee defensive end Tyler Baron is one of the most experienced line of scrimmage players in the Southeastern Conference. The Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic product has played in 47 career games with over 1,500 snaps played on Rocky Top. But the former blue-chip recruit will be looking for a new college football home in 2024.
The class of 2020 signee has one year of eligibility remaining and will not be spending it at Tennessee. Baron entered the transfer portal on Friday afternoon.
Tyler Baron has logged 101 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks during his collegiate career. The edge played amassed 41 pressures last season ranking No. 5 overall in the SEC, according to PFF data. Baron is a future NFL Draft pick and an All-SEC caliber player.

There is a history with Kentucky.
The Wildcats were very much a player during Tyler Baron’s high school recruitment were considered a potential landing spot when Baron entered the transfer portal after the 2021 season. However, the defensive end quickly decided to return to Tennessee and is now looking for a new home two years later.
Do not be surprised if Kentucky becomes a contender in a Tyler Baron recruitment again, but expect numerous schools to get involved with the latest college football free agent.
