Tyler Herro is returning to Lexington in August to host his first annual basketball camp.

With his second year in the NBA now in the books, Herro is giving back to the kids who supported him during his time at the University of Kentucky.

“I am excited to announce that I will be taking it back to where it all started, by hosting my first annual basketball camps through my foundation (@therrofoundation),” Herro wrote on social media. “Registration is now available through my website www.tyler14herro.com/camps. Spots are limited so please make sure you sign up and secure your spot. I am looking forward to seeing you guys there and making this experience one of a kind!”

After hosting his first camp in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from August 2-3, the Tyler Herro Basketball Camp will head to Lexington, Kentucky from August 5-6, with the first day reserved for 3rd-5th graders and the second day reserved for 6th-8th graders.

Participants will receive tips and hands-on instruction that include lectures, fundamental basketball skills stations and competitive contests in a high-energy, fun and positive environment with cleanliness and sanitation measures in place. Campers will be placed in small groups by age to ensure that each child gets maximum instruction. The camp will be staffed by some of the area’s best high school coaches and instructors.

“At the Tyler Herro Basketball Camp, we pride ourselves in developing and improving the skill sets of each camper,” the event description reads. “The comprehensive camp experience is great for athletes of all skill levels, whether they are new to the game or have been playing for years. Individual and team awards will be given in each age group. We are committed to providing your child with the experience of a lifetime.”

Each attendee will receive:

  • an exclusive experience – limited camp availability

  • an autographed item from Tyler Herro (item provided – outside items not permitted)

  • a camp team photo with Tyler Herro

  • Tyler Herro Basketball Camp t-shirt

This event will be held in accordance with all local COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
