Tyran Stokes combines for 85 points in two games -- including eight 3-pointers in a half

You may have heard, but Tyran Stokes is a pretty good basketball player. There is a reason Kentucky has pushed all of its chips in on the Louisville native, ranked as the consensus No. 1 overall prospect in 2026. He’s the perfect anchor to a high school class and the guy to make all of Mark Pope’s recruiting skeptics go away in a hurry. The wins and tournament success have come while stacking portal talent. Bring in a one-and-done superstar? Game-changer.
Stokes, who took an official visit to Lexington back in June, is continuing to prove the Wildcats’ investment in his recruitment necessary. After dominating the EYBL circuit all spring and summer, he’s now taking his game to a different planet at Spooky Nook in Pennsylvania.
Participating in the RWE Summer Slam Shootout, Stokes went for 41 points on Saturday, followed by 44 points on Sunday. In the latter effort, the top-ranked forward drilled eight 3-pointers in the second half alone.
Take a look at the insane highlights, Stokes knocking down contested shots from the perimeter — beyond all of the other tough, physical downhill finishes in transition we’re used to seeing from him:
Check out his 41-point effort on Saturday to give him an insane 85 combined points in two games for the 6-7, 225-pound superstar:

Where could Stokes be playing his college basketball? On3’s Jamie Shaw had a recent update that should have Big Blue Nation feeling good coming down the home stretch of his recruitment.
“For most of his recruitment, the buzz with Stokes has surrounded Louisville and Kentucky,” Shaw wrote. “Over the last couple of months, conversations with sources around the recruitment have started to shift toward a Kentucky lean with Arkansas and John Calipari picking up some momentum.”
Stokes’ mother, Keiara, told KSR+ this summer she’s a fan of Mark Pope and his history as a role player in the NBA.
“Pope was in the NBA, so he knows what the NBA wants and is looking for,” she said. “Him not being a superstar in the NBA, he knows how to be a role player. That’s a key factor in staying in your position in the NBA.”
Day in the Life with Tyran Stokes
You get to see the Louisville native and his confident personality in a SLAM Day in the Life feature released earlier in the week. In the 23-minute video, Stokes talks about his goals in basketball, which include: “Definitely a ring, All-NBA, five or six All-Stars, MVP and 10,000 or 15,000 points.”
Pope hopes he starts that Hall of Fame legacy as a Wildcat in the blue and white.
