As we approach the midpoint of the college basketball season, NBA scouts and writers start to evaluate prospects in earnest. This morning, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony released a new 2022 NBA Mock Draft, and it includes two Kentucky freshmen. TyTy Washington is No. 10, projected to go to Portland, while Daimion Collins is No. 36, projected to go to the New York Kentucky Knicks. In Givony’s previous update, Washington was No. 11 and Collins No. 30.

Washington is averaging 13.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. He’s had 14 assists over the last three games. Collins’ numbers are much lower, 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game, but he’s developing into a weapon off the bench. Collins ranks first on the team in adjusted team offensive efficiency margin per EvanMiya.com, meaning Kentucky is most efficient when he’s on the court after adjusting for opponent strength. As John Calipari continues to tinker with lineups and Collins adds strength and size in the weight room, it’ll be fascinating to see how his numbers — and NBA Draft stock — climb.

By the way, if you’re curious, Gonzaga’s Chet Holmgren is No. 1 in Givony’s mock draft, followed by Paolo Banchero (Duke), Jabari Smith (Auburn), Jaden Ivey (Purdue), and Jalen Duren (Memphis).
