TyTy Washington says he runs the city of Louisville

TyTy Washington never got the chance to play against Louisville during his lone season at Kentucky. The Cardinals canceled the game due to COVID-19, forcing the Wildcats to find a replacement on the schedule.
Rather than a rivalry matchup, UK would instead play Western Kentucky on December 22, defeating the Hilltoppers by a final score of 95-60.
Five months later, the former Wildcat wants to make it clear that he’s not moving on from the rivalry, even without a head-to-head battle.
“I wish the Derby was in Lexington,” Washington wrote on Twitter, one of many rivalry tweets he shared throughout the weekend. “I’m not a Louisville type of person.”
“I RUN THIS CITY,” he said in another.
“Fans be so tight and I love it !!! LEX>LOU…. GOODNIGHT,” Washington said to close out the evening.
Was he done there? Not at all. The following morning, the former Kentucky guard posted a picture inside Louisville’s practice facility with a Cardinal basketball.

“Told yall I run this city,” he said.
“Nah (appreciate) Coach (Kenny) Payne for the gym access,” he added in a follow-up tweet.
How did Louisville players take the banter? Not well. Cardinals Sydney Curry, El Ellis and Roosevelt Wheeler all responded to Washington’s posts.
“You don’t run the Ville. So stop it lil bruh,” Ellis said.
“What City You Run!?” Curry added.
Washington’s answer?
“That ball in your hand I was just working out with it this morning,” the former Wildcat added in a separate tweet.
TyTy Washington chose violence this weekend for no real reason at all. Or simply because he can’t stand Louisville.
Once a Wildcat always a Wildcat.
