When “Slice” Rohrssen came over from Pittsburgh, one of the main objectives in his first few months as an assistant at Kentucky was to sway Cheick Diallo, a top 10 New York prospect, to join the Wildcats. Diallo is a 6’9, 218lb. PF and is ranked as the 3rd ranked prospect in the 2015 class by 247Sports. Kentucky had been recruiting Diallo some beforehand but Rohrssen was Diallo’s lead recruiter at Pittsburgh and combining Slice with the prestige of Kentucky has elevated the Wildcats into the race.

However, according to CBS Sports and their sources, Kentucky will have to make up ground on both Kansas and Iowa State to get Diallo to sign on the dotted line. Kentucky, St. John’s, and Pittsburgh are also involved. I would expect that Kansas, Kentucky, and Iowa State will eventually make up Diallo’s final three, and with Coach Cal’s recent track record with long, athletic rim protectors I would think they stand a pretty good chance.
