UK Men's Tennis moves to NCAA 2nd round after sweeping DePaul

The Wildcats live to survive another day!

On Friday afternoon, the Kentucky Men’s Tennis team easily took care of DePaul with a 4-0 sweep in opening round action of the 2022 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship. The Wildcats are hosting the first two rounds of the event at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex, where they’ll take on Northwestern tomorrow in round two, which swept Tennessee State 4-0 in its own first-round matchup.

The two Wildcat programs will battle it out at 1:00 p.m. EST in Lexington on Saturday. Tickets for the match are available here.

With the opening-round victory, Kentucky moves to 22-7 on the season. The ‘Cats entered the NCAA Championships as the No. 8 team in the field and No. 9 overall in the nation. Northwestern, which finished fourth in the Big Ten West, will put its 19-10 record up against UK in a win-or-go-home scenario.
